Bis-Pectin & Glucolyte
Trusted and proven diarrhoea treatments
Gold Cross Glucolyte
Helps prevent dehydration
When to use?
To prevent dehydration and restore fluid loss due to diarrhoea, vomiting, and gastroenteritis in people of all ages.
The mainstay for antidiarrhoeal treatment is to maintain hydration or to re-hydrate the patient, and to prevent subsequent dehydration. The dehydration which occurs is due to a net loss of sodium, chloride, potassium, water and bicarbonate. Rehydration formulations (such as Glucolyte), when used correctly, avoid this potential for electrolyte disturbance.
Children can become dehydrated very quickly and if no fluids are given, there is an isotonic (same electrolyte concentration as human blood) depletion of body fluids leading to fatigue, light-headedness, collapse and even death.
